Painter and Printmaker
Priscilla Algava’s work reflects her passion for all those she loves and her respect for the natural world. Her explorations are about communicating the complexities of living a passionate life, always gleaning the kernel of joy, of sunshine, of magic in the moment that is Now. She dwells always in possibility and optimism. Presently an art specialist at South Brunswick High School, Algava has taught art at DePauw University, Marist College, Mercer County Community College, and at museums and institutions in the U.S. and abroad. Educated at Cornell University, she completed her M.A. at DePauw University. Ms. Algava’s work is represented in corporate and public collections including General Electric, IBM, Vassar College, Newark Public Library, and various private collections in the U.S., Argentina, Greece, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Among the awards she has received is a Geraldine Dodge Foundation Artist Fellow Award and Best in Show, Printmaking, Ellarslie Open XXV, 2007. Algava lives in Princeton.
