Terrance Cummings: An Artistic Journey
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Terrance Cummings spent his formative years in New York City. At the age of 9, he attended the Art Students League and later received degrees from the High School of Music and Art, also known as The School of the Performing Arts. He subsequently earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Parsons School of Design.
Today, his work serves as a commentary on contemporary issues, offering positive depictions and alternative perspectives on matters he considers urgent. His art grapples with unresolved issues of the day and explores complex concepts.
Classically trained in figurative drawing, the human figure is central to his work. His compositions incorporate layers of color, texture, and shape, executed in various mediums ranging from printmaking to painting.
